Davis Joint Unified School District stands against hate of all kinds and ways, including that which targets members of our LGBTQ+ community. We take seriously our responsibility to ensure welcoming and safe school environments. where all students feel safe to learn and all staff feel safe to work. We stand in solidarity with the Davis community in our commitment to make Davis welcoming, inclusive and hate free.

On Friday June 16, 2023, District staff were made aware of graffiti at Birch Lane Elementary that included homophobic slurs and inappropriate language. The Davis Police Department was contacted and is considering the graffiti a hate incident. District staff have removed all graffiti.
