Universal Meals Program Extended Through Summer 2022
Posted on 07/07/2022
DJUSD community - We have great news to share! The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently extended its free Universal Meals Program for children 18 and under throughout this summer. Effective immediately, DJUSD will offer one free breakfast and one lunch per child, per day.

Starting today, grab-and-go meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the front of Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School at a station set up just down from the main office during service hours. Lunches provided on Thursdays also will include breakfast and lunch for Friday. Family members and guardians may also pick up meals for children under 18 who are not present.

Students who are already on campus attending summer school will continue to receive their meals in the cafeteria. The Grab-n-Go service is intended to fill the gap for children who are off site, and who do not already have access to meals. Students may only receive one breakfast and one lunch per day regardless of where they receive the meals. The last day for Grab-n-Go services will be Thursday, August 18.
