Dear DJUSD Community:

Free COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Harper Junior High - May 2 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
I encourage those who are age 16 or older and have not already received the COVID-19 vaccine to attend the free drive-thru COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Harper Junior High, hosted by Yolo County, on Sunday, May 2, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Those who wish to attend do not need an appointment and walk-ins are welcome, but registration is available at https://myturn.ca.gov/ OR 1-833-422-4255 for anyone that needs assistance or language help.

This clinic will be administering the Pfizer vaccine, which means anyone 16 and older is eligible to receive it. Anyone who is 16 or 17 and wishes to attend the vaccine clinic without a parent or guardian present must have their parent or guardian fill out the COVID Minor Screening Form and present that at the clinic.

DJUSD Summer Enrichment
DJUSD is pleased to announce an exciting variety of summer enrichment experiences for our students. Following a year of sheltering-in-place during the pandemic, we recognize the importance of in-person opportunities to express creativity, critical thinking, music, arts, movement, and play for learning and wellness. We have designed a series of summer events and activities for our students (Kindergarten through 12th grade), which will be led by a variety of community organizations, service providers, and some DJUSD teachers.

Our DJUSD Summer Enrichment website includes the various offerings that are currently available for registration. Participation in these offerings is free to DJUSD students and will follow current health and safety guidance. As more opportunities become available, they will be added to our website.

Class of 2021
We are six weeks away from our graduation ceremonies and want to provide updates as we move closer to our June celebrations of our graduates.

  • Davis Adult School ceremony to be held in the evening, Monday, June 7.
  • Davis School for Independent Study ceremony to be held in the morning, Wednesday, June 9.
  • King High School ceremony to be held in the evening, Wednesday, June 9.
  • Da Vinci Charter Academy ceremony to be held in the evening, Thursday, June 10 at 5:00 p.m. at Da Vinci High School.
  • Davis Senior High School ceremony will be held in two ceremonies, Thursday, June 10 and Friday, June 11 at 8:00 p.m. This is a change from the previously scheduled 9:00 a.m. ceremonies in an effort to accommodate as many work and school schedules as possible, as well as reduce the risk of extreme heat.

All DJUSD graduations are planned under the most current guidance from Yolo County Public Health and the California Department of Public Health. This guidance may change and as we plan our ceremonies our Principals will share details and continue to update you. Here are some important details to note about our 2021 graduation ceremonies:

  • Our ceremonies will be held outside.
  • We are planning for ceremonies that provide enough space for students and families to gather under current guidance.
  • All participants and audience members will wear face coverings, practice physical social distancing between household units, and sit in assigned seating.
  • All participants should be self-screened and should not attend the event if they feel ill, have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms, or may have been exposed to someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19.
  • We anticipate each graduating Senior receiving four (4) tickets.
  • Food and drink, with the exception of water, will not be allowed.
  • The current travel advisories for anyone traveling from out of state include a ten day quarantine.
  • The events will include graduates unable to be in-person so that families may celebrate with their graduate at home.

We are so excited to celebrate with our Seniors and look forward to seeing them each cross a stage this June.

May 6, 2021 Board of Education Meeting
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be Thursday, May 6. The meeting can be viewed at 6:30 p.m. on DJUSD Education Channel 17 and by livestream, or you can watch archived recordings at djusd.tv.

Let’s all continue to support one another and move forward together.
