Face Covering Roll Back on April 11
Posted on 04/08/2022
preschool kids in a lineWhile the California Department of Public Health continues to strongly recommend that individuals assess their personal risk and wear a face covering while indoors, we are also preparing to lift indoor face covering mandates across DJUSD on Monday, April 11. We know there may be feelings of uncertainty, anxiety and relief as mandates have lifted across the state.

Although we may hold different opinions about face coverings, we expect our students, staff and visitors to continue to treat each other with respect, civility and understanding as it is likely there will be students and staff who choose to continue wearing a face covering after April 11, and many who choose not to continue wearing a face covering.

DJUSD remains committed to fostering a culture of respect among all members of our school community. We encourage you to have a conversation with your student about respecting each other’s choices regarding face coverings and being kind to each other in spite of any differences.

We will continue to have face coverings available for staff and students in the front office of all sites. Weekly COVID-19 testing will remain available through Healthy Davis Together at all sites through the remainder of the school year. In addition, we continue to encourage symptomatic students and staff to stay home and get tested.

Thank you for your partnership in this effort.
